I then poured the liquid yogurt into containers and let them sit in hot water for 6 hours. I then put it in the refrigerator over night!

After it cools down, I then added in the live culture or the starter! And mix it in really well!
Once it hit 185 degrees, I removed it from the heat and let it cool down to 110. This process took about 30-40 minutes.

Day 1: Making Greek Yogurt

I've started to make Greek yogurt and I've never done it before. I started out by putting 8 cups of organic whole milk into a pan! I then let it heat up to 185 degrees!

Hi everyone!

I have decided that I'm going to ferment yogurt. I have chosen to do yogurt because I love eating it and it's one of my favorite foods. I am excited to see how it comes out and learn how fermenting works! This is going to a fun journey and I can't wait to hear the other ideas people have. This is exactly what I'm going to need/do: Heat up 8 cups of raw organic milk to 185 degrees on low heat. Then I need to let the milk sit until it cools down to 110 degrees. I then need to put in my starter yogurt that has live culture in it. I have to stir it in well to make sure it's all mixed into the milk. I then pour the mixture into jars and let them sit in hot water and let it sit in there for 6 hours. I then have to strain out the whey in the yogurt and then pour it back into the jars. I will then leave the yogurt in the refrigerator over night to thicken!
